If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I am a big fan of nail polish and
nail art! I always have my nails painted and take great joy in trying out new
colours and effects. Here is a selection of my current favourite polishes that I
like to use in the Autumn/Winter months.

Deep Reds & Plums
In A/W I gravitate more towards the darker shades of reds, burgundy's and plums. I'm a big lover of classic red nails throughout the year, they go with practically any outfit and always look glam! Both the OPI's are similar metallic burgundys however German-icure has more
bronze in it and Every Month Is Oktoberfest has purple tone through it. Nails inc's Victoria is a rich wine colour, this one is also their Gel Formula
which is more chip resistant. I almost always have red on my toes. In summer its usually St James by Nails inc which is a bright red and in Winter I'll got for a darker toned red like Tate (pictured above).

Blacks, Khakis, Teals & Browns
Blacks and greys I think look really chic during autumn winter and work as a neutral. The two pictured above are my absolute "go-tos". I've worn a lot of khaki this autumn so I've been a bit obsessed with Foubert's Place over the last few months so I'm all matchy matchy! I particularly love this Warren Street Teal (pictured above) as it perfectly matches an Oasis Jumper I have.

Nudes & Neutrals
Nude nails are always going to be classic and versatile. From taupes, to pink tinged beiges to creamy lattes the shade range is quite extensive. I find that my nails are more likely break and split during the winter so I'll use a nude to disguise any imperfections. Often I will also pop a little glitter over the offending nail too and that tends to increase durability. Nails Inc's Horse Guards Parade is a metallic copper however it can sort of fit into the nude category. I did try to create some bronze leaves freehand using this polish a few weeks ago but the just ended up looking like weird blobs so I redid them completely!

Special Effects
I do love a bit of glitter on my nails! Yes, it can be a pain to get off but the
effect is usually worth it and it will usually last longer than a normal cream polish.
Using Nails Inc's Belgrave Square I managed to create some pretty cool fireworks, freehand, using this
particular glitter though for bonfire night a few weeks back (pictured below). Noho is a Leather effect nail polish by Nails Inc, it really does dry down to the texture of
leather and looks so cool paired with a leather jacket! There was a big craze for Fantasy Fire a few years ago as it comepletely changes the look of any polish you layer it over and creates a multi tonal finish.
