So I have a very exciting post for you today! Back at the beginning of June
(before my blog was born) I won a prize from Oasis Fashion. It was their
#mylifeinprint competition which went alongside their new V&A collection of
clothing. I tagged a picture of myself wearing a dress from that collection at
my friends wedding and I won! I won the entire V&A Collection plus a 2 night
stay at the Charlotte Street Hotel in London. How amazing is that?! It's the
best prize ever.
I'd been searching for the perfect dress for my friend, Claire's wedding, but just couldn't find anything that was a) suitable or b) suited me! I was in a panic and ended up finding this one only 10 days before. I fell in love with the cut and the print, the neckline I think is really flattering and best of all the belt is stretchy so I didn't have to worry about it getting uncomfortable after consuming all the delicious wedding food!

I've had this post on hold a little longer than I would have liked as ideally I wanted to tie it in with my trip to London which was part of the prize. However I have been really poorly for 10 weeks now and unfortunately my trip, which originally was planned for the first weekend in September, has had to be severely delayed. I'm really hoping I can get myself well enough to make it up there before Christmas and see all the festive lights and Christmas markets.
I love oasis clothing, and I've been especially into their stuff the last couple of years. I think they make some beautiful pieces that fit really well and suit my shape (pear shape) so I was absolutely made up that I won this! All the pieces feature prints taken from the archives of the V&A museum and are absolutely stunning to look at. I've taken some close up shots of some of my favourite prints. I was lucky enough to received 32 pieces in all including dresses, kimonos, skirts, shirts and tops, trousers and shorts, shoes, a handbag and a scarf! Unfortunately the clothes took a couple of months to arrive due to problems their end which was frustrating as I was gagging to try them all on and show them off! However they're all happily in pride of place in my wardrobe now and I had such fun photographing everything for this post. I couldn't actually fit it all on the bed!
This was the 'winning' photo I posted on instagram!
The first part of the collection were mostly blue shades with some cream and pinks, so very summery. Part two was more autumnal in lilac, grey and black. All with very unique, intricate patterns featuring flowers, leaves and birds.
The two stunning blue kimonos, I love the belt on the left one!
The pink & blue bird printed pieces (vest, ballerina pumps & scarf)
Crop top & pencil skirt co-ords
Excitingly winning this competition now own the handbag and shoes that match my dress!
Four of my favourite pieces from the collection
Part two of the V&A Collection
You can still get pieces from the V&A Collection (now in the sale!) on the Oasis Website & in some stores.
Look out for Outfit Posts featuring these clothes, you can already see one, two, three, and hopefully future ones of my hotel stay in London.
Do you own anything from the V&A collection? What's your favourite piece?
