I recently spent the happiest of mornings playing with a litter of five 6 week
old kittens! I literally had the best time - total kitten therapy. Those of you
who follow me on Instagram will have seen me excitedly posting pictures of their
adorable little faces. All have already got new homes designated before
you ask!
My Godmother's cat, a beautiful long haired tortoiseshell, has just had kittens. As a massive cat lover I couldn't wait to visit and have a cuddle with them. They were 6 weeks in these photos and so tiny and fluffy! We got our black cats, Molly & Mandy, at 12 weeks old so I'd never actually seen kittens that young in real life before. We still have Mandy and she is turning 18 this week. As she is an old lady now and very needy we didn't think it would be fair to her to bring any new kittens into the house. Although I could have happily scooped the lot up and smuggled them all home with me! When we came in all five were asleep on their tower which was covered in a soft sheepskin type material and had little sleeping areas, ladders up to each level and toys hanging down for them to play with - it was really cool!
Meet Dill, Sage, Sorrel, Fennel and Aloe Vera - although she turned out to be a boy so is now called Aloe Vernon! Mum is called Myrtle and her brother is called Basil so they decided to continue along the herb theme. These are their 'temporary kittens names' as I'm assuming their new owners will want to pick names for them themselves. Dill is the ginger one and (as you will see in the video) he liked to make sure he was in the mist of any kitty dust ups that we're going down! Sage is the tabby with the grey paws and the kitten they are keeping. He has a heart murmur which hopefully won't cause too many problems but they want to look after him themselves. He fell asleep in my arms at one point with his tiny little head lolling backwards. He's too adorable! Sorrel, Fennel and Aloe Vernon are more difficult to differentiate however as all three are tabby with white patches and white socks! Sorrel is the only girl in the litter and tended to take refuge at the top of the kitten tower to sleep in peace away from her boisterous brothers. Uncle Basil didn't seem terribly enamoured of the new arrivals and wanted to bat them off the tower whenever possible! The four that are leaving are going in pairs, I think it's nice that they'll have a little playmate in their new homes.

Sage asleep in my arms.
So happy!
I took a few videos of the kittens playing and being just generally adorable
and have uploaded a compilation to YouTube.
I hope you enjoyed this (picture heavy) overload of cuteness. I think this is a post to bookmark and come back to whenever you're having a tough day or feeling sad! Their adorable little faces can't help but perk you up.
