A couple of weeks ago I attended my first blogger meet up in Brighton! Held on a
Saturday afternoon in the basement of The Globe pub and organised by the lovely
Laura of Lola and Behold - who I must say was an absolute star setting up such a
fantastic event & products for us! Also thank you to Sophie Rose Hearts for
letting me know about the event and putting me in touch with Laura in the first
place.
I was feeling quite nervous at first (being faced with 35 bloggers in a small room!) but once I got settled and started talking to some of the bloggers I was fine! It was great to meet so many lovely local bloggers some of whom I'd spoken to & follow on Twitter and Instagram already. It was fun to talk blogging and to actually be recognised from my Twitter profile was pretty cool!
As some of you will already know I suffer from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and chronic joint pain so I wasn't sure if I would even be able manage going to the event. Laura was very kind and helpful however & my friend Hayley came along with me to help me out with things & carrying everything I need to be comfortable. Also I couldn't have managed to carry these goodie bags out by myself as they were full of so many products! I'd dosed up on pain killers and my pain patches that I rely on a lot so was pleased to manage to stay for most of it. As expected though I did pay for it afterwards and felt like a zombie for the next couple of days though and had a massive pain hangover. It was totally worth it though as I really enjoyed myself, met some great people and feel like it was a real achievement!

Due to the fact we were in a basement the lighting wasn't brilliant for photo taking so I
have only included a couple from inside. However we were utterly spoilt with the
goodie bags so the majority of this post will be taking you through what I
received!
Look of for my full outfit post coming later this week!
The Raffle Table
Goodie Bags
We all got given these very generous goodie bags loaded with beauty, food &
home products to trial, most of them by locally based brands.
Beauty Goodies:
One of the brands that was there on the day was Pure Potions. They're perfect for dry, sensitive and eczema prone skin as they are 100% natural and fragrance and paraben free! We were gifted 3 samples including their intensive moisturising cream, daily moisturising cream and intensive hand cream. I also picked up their tea tree and arnica rescue salves plus the rosehip scar oil. Pure Potions are available online and in Brighton from Infinity Foods & Elm Grove Pharmacy.
Nothing says pamper evening to me more than a good face mask! I love trying out new ones so am looking forward to these two by Anatomicals, one mattifying and the other deep cleansing. I love haircare products so am really looking forward to trying out this Ed Protect leave in treatment by Chill. Designed to repair, detangle and give shine to dull hair - all things my hair is in need of! Bee Good gave us a sample of their new lift and brightening eye cream. I got a full size of Gradual Tanning Cream from Moo Goo which I am excited to start trying soon before I bare my legs this summer! A pink vanilla body spray from Body Fantasies, perfect for your handbag or going away bag.
From Green People I received a Fruit Facial Scrub as well as samples of their Quinoa & Artichoke Shampoo and Conditioner plus their 24 Hour Cream & Night Cream. I got an anti-ageing face & eye serum from Skin Effect a brand exclusive to Lloyds Pharmacy. I love trying out new skincare especially something like a serum that I can just slot into my regular routine. I also got a sample of protect replenishing peptide serum by Nourish. A full size of Bio Oil a product I swear by for getting rid of the scars I've had due to my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
We got some samples from Minty Coco, these aren't chocolates that you eat but actually coconut oil-pulling which help brighten your teeth for a naturally whiter smile! I'm looking forward to giving this a go. I probably should have put these in the foodie section as these are dark chocolates by Esthechoc, said to improve the health of your skin if you eat one once a day! Two of my favourite things, Skincare & Chocolate. I'm a little sceptical I must say but definitely up for the trial!

Food Goodies:
Now onto the snacks & drinks, most of which I have now consumed! Three different flavours of coconut water from Life Tonics which I've been enjoying, they taste much nicer than plain coconut water. Some exciting looking cocktail mixers from Funkin in White Peach Bellini and Raspberry Mojito, just add alcohol! A chocolate milk protein shake by Ufit and a Collagen & Beauty Milk. A couple of bags of Medcalfe's Sweet Cinnamon Skinny Popcorn which was really tasty. Snact is a brand of fruit jerky made from surplus fruit unwanted by the supermarkets. Very tasty & healthy snacks in Apple & Raspberry and Apple & Mango flavours. My favourite foodie bits would probably be the bags of snacks and delicious chocolate biscuit bars from Tasty Little Numbers though, all of which were only 100 calories! I will definitely be looking out for these again.

Homage is a brand now based in Brighton (Bath Street, Seven Dials) they were displaying there products on
the day and I was really impressed with the range of items they stock! We all
got notebooks in different designs, a fabric shower bag and cute little felt
pouch. Meraki gave us a pack of face wipes and a lovely mint scented lip balm.
I received this cute little candle in my bag from Wick Candle Boutique, as you will know from my
many candle blog posts I am a massive candle addict so I was very excited about
this. This one is unfragranced I think but I'm hoping to pop by their shop at
some point and try some of their fragranced candles. I also got an earl grey
fragranced soap.
We got this fabulous Stigu monthly planner which I've been using a lot already
for blog planning. It's a decent size so you have space to write plenty!
There was a raffle table absolutely packed full of fantastic prizes and I was
lucky enough to win this set beautiful body wash set by Brighton based brand Green People. The proceeds from the raffle went to Grass Roots Suicide
Prevention and we raised over £100! Also throughout the week Laura had been
running Twitter competitions and I won this lovely collection of perfumes by Body Fantasies all of which smell beautiful. My favourites are the Japanese
Cherry Blossom & the Pink Grapefruit.
I loved my first bloggers meet and can't wait for the next one!
