I am continuing my review of all of the Yankee Candle scents that we are getting in the UK over the course of this year. Giving each a score out of ten after I've sampled them. I usually get the tarts/melts in all the new fragrances when they're released to try as I find it's the best & most cost effective way to trial fragrances before deciding whether you want to buy a jar. Melts generally throw out a strong scent in its purest form as there is no wick.
As there are 5 main fragrance collections launching this year (more than usual) I'm not sure whether to keep going with the 'Q' (Quarter) reference as that should really mean only 4 per year! This summer we had an early summer release of 4 fragrances called the Riviera Escape Collection (reviewed here) plus a late summer launch of another 4 new scents called the Warm Summer Nights Collection which is what I am talking about today.

Sunset Breeze | "Take an evening stroll on a beach,
with scents of tropical fruits moving on the breeze, back and forth, just like
the surf." I found this fragrance a little disappointing. From the
description I thought I'd like it more but I could barely smell anything from it
when it was melting/burning and from what I've heard from other fans online I'm
not alone! I think if you perhaps it might work in a very small room like a
bathroom, but I think a melt is your best (and most cost effective) bet as they
give the purest fragrance throw. If don't like strong fragrances and are looking
for a light fruity scent with a light throw then it might be worth a try but
personally I won't be choosing this again. 4/10
Dreamy Summer Nights | "A relaxing blend of vanilla bean, heliotrope and a hint of
woodiness - it spreads the subtle magic of a warm night in soft bloom." This
fragrance was different to what I had been expecting, in a good way! From the
colour and image I pictured it being along the lines of Midsummer's Night &
Kilimanjaro Stars which are very masculine/cologne type scents. However this one
has a strong throw of delicious orange and vanilla sugar in the top notes,
heliotrope and vanilla orchid in the middle notes and vanilla bean, amber and
cedar wood in the base notes. So it has a real vanilla theme without being
sickly or cakey (it's still in the 'fresh' category) and I really enjoyed
melting it over a couple of warm evenings. To me it's like a luscious sensual
perfume. 7/10
Passion Fruit Martini | "Sit back, relax and savour a
tropical mix of passion fruit, mango and zesty orange. It's like a long sip of a
true beachside cocktail." I was so excited about trying this
one! Being a fan of similar bright fruity scents Yankee have created in the
past such a Wild Passion Fruit & Margarita Time, I felt confident this would
be a winner. I actually choice to melt this for the first time on my birthday as
I thought it would set a nice mood! I was right, a strong throw of bright juicy
pineapple, mango and orange in the top notes and peach in the middle notes. I
loved it and am keen to get this is a jar format. 8/10
Flowers In the Sun | "Like a walk in the garden with sunlight spilling over all the golden colours a remarkably bright scent of sweet blossoms." This one was such a pleasant surprise! I really hadn't been expecting to like it as much as I ended up, enough to include it in my August Loves List (here). I thought it might be similar to Yankee's retired scent, sunflower, but it's actually quite different. It's more sweet and uplifting with distinct notes of citrus in the top notes, blooms (azaleas, rosebuds & waterlily) in the mid notes and a light sweet musk in the base. I also love the bright yellow colour of the wax and the beautiful sunny floral image. From what I've heard online though this one can be a little hit and miss with how strong the throw is from a jar, so I'd advice trying this in melt form as that has a really good strong throw. I think I will stock up on the melts myself instead of buying a jar. 9/10
