I am continuing my review of all of the Yankee Candle scents that we are getting in the UK over the course of this year. Today I'm talking about the last 4 launches this year which Yankee have called Holiday Party! This is their Christmas Quartet to cap off a year of great new fragrance launches. It's not overly Christmassy I must say, however I think they have released so many super festive scents in recent years and in their current Christmas range anyway, I suppose they felt it would be refreshing to create a slightly different party inspired collection.
I will be giving each a score out of ten after I've sampled them. I like to get the tarts/melts in all the new fragrances when they're released to try as I find it's the best & most cost effective way to trial fragrances before deciding whether I want to buy a jar. Melts generally throw out a strong scent in its purest form as there is no wick.
All Is Bright | "A blend of sparkling citrus scents drifting on warm musk." I think this is a perfect pick me up scent for the morning after those Christmas & New Year parties! It's bright and zesty but I wouldn't say its a particularly stand-out kind of fragrance. I might try it again but it's not really the kind of scent I want to burn at this time of year. With top notes of Grapefruit & Orange, Redcurrant middle notes and Sweet Musk in the base. 6/10
Macaron Treats | "The classic Parisian macaron-sweet as can be and lighter than air, with notes of vanilla, almond and, of course, sugar." This is a delicious almond fragrance reminiscent of an old favourite called Almond Cookie! Yankee don't really do any similar, nutty fragrances in their current range I the UK so this is a really welcome addition from my point of view. With top notes of Confectioner's Sugar, middle notes of cookie & almond and vanilla in the base notes it really is a sweet lovers dream. 9/10
Star Anise & Orange | "A juicy slice of fresh orange cooled by sweet anise-refreshing!" This one has top notes of Juicy Orange, Anise & Mandarin, middle notes containing Clove and Musk, Sandalwood & Vanilla in the base notes. I think if you really love the smell of liquorice then this one is for you. I used to really like Happy Halloween which was a strong, spiced black liquorice fragrance. Personally, I wasn't completely sold on it, it was quite mild and I didn't get as much of the orange coming through as I would have liked. I'm going to give it another go as I didn't dislike it, but it definitely is not one of my favourites and doesn't feel particularly festive. 6/10
Festive Cocktail | "Celebrate with a tart concoction spiked with mountain berries and a sprig of fresh-snipped pine." Festive Cocktail is my absolute favourite from Yankee's new Christmas releases this year! It is definitely the most Christmassy fragrance of the bunch, if you like Mandarin & Cranberry then you will like this one too. With top notes of Citrus, Cranberry & Blackcurrant and then Pine & Vanilla in the middle and base notes I've personally found it to be an absolutely addictive scent and one I will be returning to for sure! 10/10
Have you tried any of these Holiday Party fragrances yet? If so what are your favourites?
