I felt like I was so busy with the blog throughout December & right up to New Year that I decided to have a bit of a break week last week (with the exception of my 2016 Top 5 Films post) so I could get re-motivated again and ready for 2017's projects! I'm back into things full force this week though, starting of with today's post sharing with you what I got up to on Christmas Day!
For the first time ever we decided to have a big family Christmas with my Mums side of the family, her two brothers and their families. We've always got together between Christmas and New Year but never for the big day itself, I think mainly due to space and the amount of work it would involve as there are 12 or us. My sister came home from travelling this year (having missed Christmas last year) and it just seemed like a great time to do it, hosted at my Uncle Mike & Auntie Jill's place. The six of us cousins have always been close so it was immense fun to finally all be together on Christmas Day! We all brought some food & drinks to contribute and had an amazing Christmas dinner. A roast dinner is always one of my favourite meals but I love all the extra bells and whistles that come at Christmas time, pigs in blankets & stuffing so yummy! Our cousin Jess created Santa Hats for us all saying "Price/Kirk Family Christmas 2016" on them which looked so cute and something lovely to keep. We did a family secret Santa, my uncle Phil got me and gave me a great selection of Lush bath products, I was very happy! After dinner we played some classic games including Charades, as well as Watch Your Mouth where you put in a mouth guard and try and say sentences for the rest of the table to try and understand. This had us all literally weeping with laughter, hard to do with a mouth guard in!
All in all it turned out to be one of the most wonderful & fun Christmas Day's I have ever had! I can't remember laughing so much in a long time and I really hope we do it again one year.
Yankee Candle's Christmas Eve fragrance is the only scent I want to burn on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day, it just IS Christmas for me! Even just lifting the lid evokes memories of past Christmases, it's so lovely! “Traditional holiday scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits.”

We had a second Christmas Lunch at our house on Boxing Day, because you know, one is never enough!
The following day we did our now traditional Kirk party bites meal, we really love these! As you can see Christmas is all about the food for us.
One of my favourite Christmas gifts was this mermaid blanket! I'll be doing a What I Got for Christmas post later this week so keep an eye out for that if you wish to have a nose at my other presents.
I'd love to know what you got up to on Christmas Day, who did you spend it with and what were your highlights?
